I received my Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from Central Washington University, and prior to opening my private practice I worked in several mental health clinics as well as in a residential mental health program for adolescents. Through the years, I have had the privilege to work with people from immensely diverse backgrounds, in terms of their age, ethnicity, culture, socioeconomic status, and sexuality.
Currently, I am a therapist and counselor in private practice working with individual adults and, occasionally, couples. I greatly value connecting with people, and one of the most satisfying things in life for me is to help people reach their personal goals and get to know themselves better from a place of compassion and curiosity. |
On a more personal note, I was born in Europe and spent the first two decades of my life living in Belarus and Germany - but for many years now my home has been in the U.S. Having built my life anew in this new country, I have a high degree of empathy for people who are going through major life transitions or who seek to become more grounded during stressful periods of their lives.
Outside of work, I enjoy contemplating and discussing important issues in all areas of human life, be it psychology, relationships, economics, or (God help us) politics. I also like playing, recording, and listening to music, as well as swimming, yoga, and hiking. Last, but not least, I practice mindfulness, which, I have found, helps me stay grounded - both in professional and personal life.
I hope the above gives you a general sense of my background and interests. At the same time, given the crucial importance of personal fit in therapy, I invite you to use the button below to schedule an initial consultation with me, so that we can meet in person and really get a sense of each other.
